Royals devote weekend games to mothers and grandmothers

Solid weekend for the Royals picking up a 5-3 win over the Jr Oil Kings and driving out to Red Deer for a dominant 8-1 win on Mother’s Day, which the Royals dedicated to all the hard working hockey moms who helped us get to where we are!
The Highlights of the weekend were:
  • Ryan ‘Hollywood’ Heuser’s Mother’s Day Hattrick vs. Red Deer, including his team leading 10th goal of the season (12 GP, 10-3-13)
  • Brett Beebe (12 GP 4-4-8) scoring three goals, including the game winner against the Jr Oil Kings. The 72 pound Brett wowed fans by outworking a much larger defencemen for position in front of the net, where he then picked up a lovely deflection for the GWG
  • Team captain and leading scorer Seth Fulton (12 GP 8-10-18) beautifully set up the eventual game winning goal against Red Deer by using his almost inhuman hockey sense and vision to intercept an attempted Red Deer breakout pass, then put the puck directly on the tape of linemate Ethan Kashman (12GP 4-4-8) who made no mistake in ripping a shot low glove on the Red Deer goalie
The Royals are heading out to Calgary for the Showdown in Cowtown from May 19-22 and hope to turn the momentum from our current three game winning streak into the first medal in our young teams history!
Go Royals and Happy Mother’s Day!
